Literacy Awareness Day 2022

We held our annual Literacy Awareness Day for the first time in two years on Saturday, September 17th at the Prien Lake Mall. We had coloring sheets, a tie dye craft, bingo, tic-tac-toe, and a snack with cookie cake. After the children finished the activities and crafts, they would then come to the book table and select a book to take home with them. We had a great turn out-74 children came out and we had a lot of people register for our raffle ticket drawing. Our sponsors, Starbucks, Cinemark, The Great American Cookie Company, Bath and Body Works, and Maurices, all contributed to the door prizes. We had staff, volunteers and the Lake Charles College Prep Beta Club all on board to help with everything. We were even featured on the 6 o’clock news! All in all, it was a great and successful day!
