Life Skills are important for handling everyday responsibilities.  Workshop topics include time management; financial literacy; self care; and motivation & perseverance.

COMPUTERS & THE INTERNET
Colleagues Working in Office

Technology is a part of our daily lives.  It can keep us connected and help us access resources.  We teach basic computer literacy skills and internet responsibility and safety.

COLLEGE & CAREERS
College Students in Classroom

7 out of 10 of today's jobs require specific training or at a minimum an associate's degree.  We offer college and career readiness resources and training for adults ages 18 and older.

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
Books

ESL is a language program for non-native English speakers.  We focus on speaking and listening and teach grammar, reading, comprehension, writing, and vocabulary.

Wearing Mask in Public Transport
MASK UP

We have taken precautions to ensure that our staff and program participants are safe.  The Literacy Council is following LA Department of Health guidelines for public gatherings.  For face-to-face activities, it is important to remember to mask-up, social distance, and wash hands (and use hand sanitizer) frequently.  Masks must be worn at all times by students and faculty, in buildings, classes, and common spaces.
