Wired 4 Learning is now enrolling. For details, contact Katrise at kclark@literacyswla.org or 337-494-7000.

Wired 4 Learning is available for adults interested in enrolling in the Literacy Council's program during the months of May, June, or July. The program is designed for working adults who have barriers to full participation in the traditional or face-to-face program. To be eligible for the program, the following conditions must be met:

1. Proof of Employment
2. Age 18+ on the date of enrollment
3. Commitment to participate 8 hours per week

The Wired 4 Learning program is a transitional program that seeks to guide students into the world of Digital Learning. Once eligibility is confirmed, students will complete an application, participate in a phone consultation, and complete an orientation.

The program requires that students "check-in" and earn their participation hours during specific virtual learning class times. Current available times include Monday, Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; Monday, Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

For students with limited computer skills, they may schedule in-person tutoring appointments with the digital literacy coordinator. In addition, for students who lack access to internet enabled devices, they may use Literacy Council computers on-site at designated times.

For more information about this program, email Katrise Reado-Clark at kclark@literacyswla.org or call the Literacy Council at 337-494-7000 or 337-602-8438.
