Hurricane Delta
During the mandatory evacuation for Hurricane Delta, all Literacy Council offices will be closed until October 12, 2020. Literacy Council phones are not currently available. Please email info@literacyswla.org for class updates.
If you need emergency assistance or information, please call Louisiana 211.
Online Instruction
Currently, all Literacy Council classes have been moved to online. We are working with our partners to establish new schedules. Please reach out to your instructor or check back for updates.
All Literacy Council instructors are available via phone or email (9am to 3pm, Mon - Fri). Please visit our Student Resources page to find up-to-date contact information for staff members.

Packet Requests
If you do not have access to an internet enabled device like a smart phone, tablet, or computer, we will be providing paper packets once our Central School office is operational.

Post Hurricane Laura
Following Hurricane Laura, the Literacy Council's classrooms in Central School, DeRidder, and in Jennings at the Morgan Smith campus will be reopening. However, the classes at SOWELA's main campus and in Grand Lake are damaged. We are working to reorganize classes and online instruction.
