Wine & Words to Benefit the Literacy Council

The Literacy Council of Southwest Louisiana will host Wine and Words on Thursday, February 9th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at the Central School.

Beginning at 6pm, McNeese State University English professor Dr. Keagan LeJeune will make a presentation on his most recent works "Legendary Louisiana Outlaws:  The Villains and Heroes of Folk Justice."

Dr. LeJeune will discuss familiar outlaw legends as they relate to Louisiana history.

His book is the recipient of the 2017 Louisiana Library Association's Louisiana Literary Award, which recognizes the best book about an aspect of Louisiana life.  It also received the 2016 Brian McConnell Book Award from the International Society for Contemporary Legend Research.

At 6:30pm, the doors to the wine tasting venue will open. A wide variety of wines will be available for tasting.  Special orders will be taken on site and may be picked up from The Wine Store.

Since Central School has limited parking, valet service for overflow will be available.
