On September 8^th, 2011, the Rotary Club of Lake Charles hosted the 19^th Annual Literacy Awards & Reception.  Club President Adrian Wallace presented Rotary Excellence in Achievement awards to five adult learners.  Each was recognized for individual achievements, personal determination and a commitment to learning.  The 2011 student honorees are:

• Rodell Landry
• Rosalie Hounnou
• Giang Van
• Diana Dumitru
• Christopher Summers

In addition, Jane Dowty was recognized as the Volunteer of the Year.

A new addition to the Rotary Awards is recognition of the 2011 Bookmark Contest winner—Cydne’ Ceasar, Oak Park Middle.

The Literacy Council would like to express sincere thanks to the Rotary Club of Lake Charles for hosting the reception in recognition of the 2011 honorees.  Special thanks is also extended to Capital One Bank, KMI and the O’Carroll Group for sponsoring the bookmark contest.
